About the lab

Thank you very much for visiting the homepage of Mori lab at NCVC !

I am Masaki Mori, a pediatrician-scientist, the principal investigator working at National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center Research Institute (NCVC).

The primary aim of the lab is to find a solution for pediatric intractable diseases.

For that purpose, we are currently engaged in molecular biological approach, bioinformatics and disease modeling.

We are welcoming graduate students who are interested in our research.

Contact us anytime [contact information is indicated below].

The projects in the lab are:

  • Pediatrics molecular medicine

Aiming at understanding and finding a solution for pediatric diseases, we have been engaged in the elucidation of molecular basis for the uniqueness that only children possess, and adult don’t.

  • Cell competition

How do cells dialogue?
We are studying a role of the cell competition in the cellular quality control in the organs.

  • Physical aspect of a cell: Microrheology (Collaboration with Dr. Daisuke Mizuno, Kyusyu university.)

Is physical status of a cell (stiffness, for example) affected by biological factors? How?
Thanks to the fruitful collaboration with Dr. Daisuke Mizuno, Kyusyu university, we are tackling to uncover the unsolved questions of life.

  • Bioinformatics

How thousands of factors behave in a cell?
By computational biology, we are addressing how the network of genes and molecules dynamically behave.

  • Human genetic disease modeling.

Utilizing CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing system, we are producing and analyzing the models of human diseases.
Therapeutic ideas are being sought.

Thank you very much for visiting our lab page !
