By conducting your research at the Research Institute of the National Center for Child Health and Development (NCCHD) in Tokyo, you can work toward obtaining a degree from our cooperative graduate programs:
the Graduate School of Medicine at Tohoku University (Ph.D.) or
the Graduate School of Science and Engineering at Saitama University (Master's, Ph.D.).

Our laboratory focuses on Basic Science (fundamental biological research) with the goal of understanding the mechanisms of pediatric diseases and developing novel therapeutic technologies.
Our main areas of study include Cell Biology, analysis of pediatric animal disease models, Bioinformatics Analysis, Transcriptome Analysis, and the diagnosis of intractable pediatric diseases using whole-genome analysis.
We conduct genomic diagnostics targeting patient genomes and DNA, as well as the technological development of gene therapies.
In particular, we have consistently dedicated our research to elucidating the molecular mechanisms of "Juvenility"—the innate physiological advantages that children possess.
Our lab offers an optimal environment for anyone interested in molecular medical science, patient genomics, and gene therapy.
